Vehicle Dynamics

At Berkeley Formula Racing, I closed the loop between a lap simulator and a physical car using logged data and driver feedback. The current project reverses the arrow and adds rigor: instrument the real car, then fit the model to what it measured.

Berkeley Formula Racing

Vehicle dynamics subteam. At FSAE Michigan 2023, B23 placed 2nd in Autocross, 5th in Efficiency, and 10th in Design. My work focused on measurement, test, and correlation.

Rebuilt the camber compliance measurement rig.

Ran back-to-back configuration testing in dynamic sessions, merging logged data from the electrical and engine subsystems to evaluate changes.

Iterated the car against the team's MATLAB 7-DOF lap simulator and driver feedback; helped other subsystems validate design decisions.
